|VERIFIED| Sims 4 Voice Mod: Make Your Sim Sound Like a Celebrity, a Robot, or Anything Else

"This is what happens when you use your voice! This community came together and this issue is finally getting fixed," Shelly tweeted. She immediately noted, however, that the change would have been impossible without the help of Danielle and Xmiramira, another black Simmer who's mod the Melanin Pack added over fifty brown and black skin tones to the game, and who's also featured on Spark'd, a competition reality show based on The Sims.

Simlish was created because Will Wright, creator of The Sims, knew that the game needed dialogue, but thought that using real-life languages such as English would cause the dialogue to be repetitive and would be expensive translating the entire dialogue Sims may say. He also decided that Simlish worked best as a "language" made up of gibberish words that could not be translated, so that the dialogue's meanings would be left open to the imagination of the player.[1] Wright later commented that using a nonsense language turned out to be the right development choice, as people were capable of imagining it more realistically than a computer could simulate a real language.[2] The actual sound of Simlish was improvised by voice actors Stephen Kearin and Gerri Lawlor.[3]

One of Wright's biggest concerns while developing The Sims was that giving the characters actual dialogue would have made such dialogue extremely repetitive, because even if Wright had been able to fit five CDs' worth of voice clips into the game, players would eventually have started hearing the same voice clips over and over again. He found that this problem persisted even when he tried using Navajo, Ukrainian or Estonian, but that, because the gibberish of Simlish was so far removed from any existing human language, it was very difficult for players to detect repetition in it. The team went out to record hundreds of voice clips in Simlish, each with their own unique cadence and emotional nuance. Wright wanted the player to be able to tell whether a Sim is feeling flirtatious, upset, laid back, or tired, based entirely on their tone and tempo.[4][5]

What the game needs is a proper funeral, which is what the Funeral Mod, originally by Brittpinkiesims and revived by Rex, does. Players can now start a new funeral event, where people can perform eulogies and view the body. Sims can also hire a Minister.

In The Sims, male Adult Sims are voiced by Stephen Kearin, while female adult voices are performed by Gerri Lawlor.[1] These two actors are the inventors of the Simlish language.[2][3] Sean O' Connor, Laurel McCarl Kapros, Paul Rausmussen, Melissa Burnside Roberts and Eli Sibley perform additional voices. In The Sims: Makin' Magic, Nikki Rapp makes her debut as the voice of Child Sims.[4]

In The Sims 3, for the first time players are able to choose their Sim's voice, and even alter the pitch. This voice stays consistent throughout the child, teen, young adult, adult, and elder life stages (Sims who are born in-game cannot have their voices changed). Unlike The Sims 2, the teen, young adult, adult, and elder life stages all use the same voice actors.

The player can choose between three different voices in Create a Sim for most life stages, but only two for children, and one for toddlers. Only two past voice actors return; Nikki Rapp and Donna LeTourneau. New voice actors include Khary Payton, Elisa Gabrielli, William Salyers, Georgina Cordova, Nicky Ralf, Will Blagrove, Becky Boxer, William Woff and Deborah Ben-Eliezer.

In The Sims 4, there are nine voice actors who voice Sims with Simlish.[7] Some of the voice actors in The Sims 4 include Cia Court, Scott Whyte,[8] Krizia Bajos,[9] and Jessica DiCicco.[10] Other voice actors include Hynden Walch, Taylor Parks, Arianna Ratner, Patrick Seitz, and Fred Tatasciore. Nikki Rapp, who has been a voice actor since The Sims: Makin' Magic, did not return in The Sims 4 at first,[11] but later returned in February 2016. In the Create-a-Sim, players can choose a voice for their sim. For child sims the choice is between sweet and warm voice, and for sims who are teens and older the choice is between sweet, melodic, lilted, clear, warm and brass voice. The player can adjust a sim's voice with a pitch-slider.

Limited information is available concerning factors that may be associated with attendance and outcomes among patients referred for voice therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine whether patient-related factors could be identified which distinguished patients who attended voice therapy and had positive voice change from those who did not. This retrospective study included medical record information for 100 patients seen at a major urban, academic medical center. The attendance/outcomes of voice therapy resulted in patient division into five groups, those who (1) were successfully discharged from therapy, (2) attended a few sessions, had voices that improved to normal or were near normal and then stopped attending therapy, (3) attended many sessions with some voice gain, (4) failed to improve despite attending voice therapy, or (5) failed to attend voice therapy as recommended. Outcomes for groups 1-3 (53% of patients) were considered successful (positive voice change), whereas outcomes for groups 4 and 5 (47% of patients) were considered unsuccessful. A high percentage of patients (44%) essentially did not attend therapy. Patients having successful outcomes were more likely to be female, younger, employed, with fewer laryngeal diagnoses and medical problems, a less severe voice disorder and lower Voice Handicap Index (VHI) scores at the start of therapy. Patients with more complex laryngeal diagnoses, more perceived vocal severity, occupational issues, more health issues, and higher VHI scores at the time of the initial voice evaluation may be at greater risk for failing to attend voice therapy sessions.

Voice Actors Scott Whyte & Cia Court are two of many voice actors confirmed to be a part of The Sims 4 sound production. As we have learned, there are over half a million sound files in The Sims 4, and both Scott and Cia play a role in creating those sound bits.

We used just human actors in The Sims 2 Pets and The Sims Unleashed. For The Sims 3 Pets we want to present our players with a richer more realistic sonic experience. The voice compositing is only one aspect of that enrichment. Everything from pet locomotion to animal ambience has been enhanced.

Kid Beyond (opens in new tab) (aka Andrew Chaikin) was a voice actor on The Sims 2 and dished out some secrets behind recording the infamous Simlish language. Not only is there no Simlish, but there's also no script, and actors just "make up gibberish" on the spot. This revelation came in the form of a quote tweet that Chaikin wrote in response to fellow musician Lolo Zouaï (opens in new tab), who tweeted (opens in new tab) "How do I get my songs officially translated to Simlish?" Chaikin elaborates on Simlish further with a Twitter thread, giving us even more insight into the language.

To edit sims in The Sims 4 you can use the 'Change Sim' function. This only changes cosmetic items your sim is wearing however, to edit their facial features you'll need to use The Sims CAS edit cheat. To learn the cheat and how to use it, read on.
